Clinton Unveils Plan to Fix Highways

NBC News

If the highways in your state are crumbling, you may soon be getting some help. Hillary Clinton is preparing a highway plan in the event that she is elected president.

As Bloomberg reports, the Democratic frontrunner has unveiled a $275 billion infrastructure plan that would aim to shore up the nation’s thoroughfares. The initiative would be paid for by corporate tax-law changes.

Clinton’s real-world plans for the country have in large part been overshadowed by the partisan rancor of the 2016 election. But on her website, Clinton says the highway plan will be part of the “biggest investment in American infrastructure in decades.” The plan is expected to create tens of thousands of jobs.

President Barack Obama proposed a similar infrastructure plan at one time. Obama’s effort was struck down by congressional Republicans.
