Colorado’s unemployment rate has continued at record lows for the past three months.

According to the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment, Colorado’s unemployment rate in June stayed at 2.3 percent.

That, according to The Denver Post, makes it the third straight month that the state has maintained its record low and staked claim to the nation’s lowest employment rate since March.

And, the number of unemployed dropped to 67,200 in June, the lowest count in Colorado since January 2001.

According to the survey of households, the number of people actively participating in the labor force increased 10,400 over May to 2,969,100 and the number of people reporting themselves as employed increased 10,500 to 2,901,900, causing the number of unemployed to decrease by 200.

The largest private sector job gains were in professional and business services, education and health services, and leisure and hospitality and the largest declines were in construction and information.

The national unemployment rate increased one-tenth of a percentage point in June to 4.4 percent.
