Severe Studios

it’s been a crazy weather week on the High Plains. You name it, we’ve seen it. The flatlands have experienced snow, rain, tornadoes, hail, and unseasonably warm weather.

The New York Times reportedon a tornado that ripped through a Halliburton plant northeast of Amarillo on Monday. Three other tornadoes also touched down in Gray County, according to myhighplains.com, though no injuries or fatalities were reported. A week later, USA TODAY was reportingdozens of tornadoes across the plains. Meanwhile,The Wichita Eagle announcedthe first snowfall of the season in Northwest Kansas last week.

Then, on Tuesday, Accuweather reported on a blizzard that buried parts of Eastern Colorado and Western Kansas and Nebraska. The Texas and Oklahoma panhandles also saw snow on Tuesday. But the day before and after saw highs in the upper 60s.
