Fishing on Caddo Lake is one for your bucket list

Howdy Folks!  My guest this week is guide Billy Carter who has lived, fished and hunted on beautiful Caddo Lake in deep east Texas his entire life. Billy and his wife Dottie own Spatterdock.  They have several furnished rental houses situated right on the lake. They also manage the oldest inland marina in the state, Johnson's Ranch Marina.

Billy keeps busy with the marina, guiding fishermen and duck hunters, giving tours on the lake and also setting up movie sets for the countless films that are made on this giant lake situated on the Texas-Louisiana border. It's been said that once one visits Caddo, the place keeps calling them back again and again. This must be true because for years, I have made at least one yearly pilgrimage to the dark, eerie big cypress swamp.

Right now, fishing is red hot not for the lake's plentiful yellow bass and crappie. Billy and I will give you the secrets to catching hundreds of these good eating fish!

Outdoors writer, radio host and book author Luke Clayton has been addicted to everything outdoors related since his childhood when he grew up hunting and fishing in rural northeast Texas. Luke pens a weekly newspaper column that appears in over thirty newspapers.
