If you’re planning to vote on election day, it might be best to leave your phone in your car—especially if you’re in the habit of taking frequent selfies.

Texas law prohibits photography within 100 feet of a polling place, The Huffington Post reports.

Colorado law also prohibits voters from showing their ballot to others—and the so-called “ballot selfie” falls under this category. As The Denver Channel reports, snapping a selfie in the booth in Colorado is a misdemeanor and you could be punished with a fine of up to $1,000 or even spend a year in Colorado county jail.

You’re safer in Oklahoma: There’s no law restricting photography inside a polling place there. But sharing your ballot while you’re voting is banned, so keep your marked ballot out of your selfie.

Meanwhile Kansas laws don’t mention photography. The state says it discourages taking pictures of ballots and posting them on the web.
