Tornados, blizzards, rain and snowstorms are part of life across the High Plains. September 11, 2001 brought a different kind of tempest, something unexpected, unimaginable, even unbelievable, with The World Trade Center at the epicenter. Shock waves were felt coast to coast, even in the heartland we call home. Sunday, September 11, 2011 at 7:00 pm central time, High Plains Public Radio presents, "A Different Kind of Storm," a collection of remembrances of those moments and the days that followed from your public radio family living on the wide open prairie, in days that shook the foundational belief that this kind of attack would never come to our door.
"A Different Kind of Storm," will be followed by, "9/11 Memorial," a special program from the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, with special guest, Tom Brokaw. The power of the choir's music and Tom Brokaw's stirring narration captures in music and word the courage and optimism that rings in the heart of every American.
Music heard on, "A Different Kind of Storm."
