Conceived and produced by Dodge City Marshal Allen Bailey, Western Swing & Other Things brings listeners a blend of music, humor, poetry and western lore that is unique to the High Plains broadcast area.  Each week, the Marshal features Western Swing Old and New, "Golden Oldies", Country Music Classics,Cowboy Songs, Cowboy Poetry, and so much more!  Plus, hear rebroadcasts of our Regional Programming modules each hour, the news from the Howell Social Club, and the latest from Abner's Guitar Shop.  It's all fun and games - the perfect way to spend a Saturday morning!

  • Allen D. Bailey

    Dodge City's Marshal Allan D. Bailey is the host of Western Swing & Other Things and has been broadcasting great western swing music from the Swingin' Gate Ranch for more than twenty years. In addition to presenting hard-to-find recordings from his vast collection, Marshal Bailey also enjoys researching
    the history of each recording when the information is available and sharing it with his listeners.
    2004 Inductee into the Kansas Western Swing Society Hall Of Fame.
    2009 Inductee into the Western Swing Society of the Southwest Hall Of Fame.
    2010 Cowtown Society of Western Music's Disc Jockey Of The Year.

    Dodge City Marshal Allen Bailey after the awards ceremony in Mineral Wells, Texas on May 1st where he was awarded the Disc Jockey of the Year 2010 by the Heros of Western Music Society. Marshal also received a proclamation from the Governer of Texas.

    Ms. Vesta Brant
    Best Wishes to Ms. Vesta Brant, our very first Listener Of The Year. She is shown here at the Senior Olympics in Cimarron, Ks carrying the torch. She was the oldest one there and they pushed her around the gym in a wheelchair. She won the Olympian Medal. She will be 98 in August.
