KJJP-FM 105.7 FM serving Amarillo/Canyon and the central Texas Panhandle will be off the air on Monday from about 7am until 3pm. This shutdown is required while repairs are made to guy wires on the Channel 10 tower used by KJJP. During this outage you can continue listening to HPPR via its digital streams (see the player above) or through the HPPR mobile app.

A Chat with Pushing Chain: Live in Amarillo TONIGHT

This week, I was delighted to catch Adam Moe & Boyd Blomberg, the “folky-tonk” duo Pushing Chain, on the phone from Austin, TX. They were getting ready to head up to Amarillo for their show TONIGHT at Starlight Canyon Bed & Breakfast (100 Brentwood Rd., Amarillo). Doors open at 7p, and the show starts at 7:30p. There’s a suggested donation of $15, and there will be refreshments on site, courtesy of Nate & Liz Green (Starlight Canyon). The project researches the origins of Lucinda Williams as an emerging singer-songwriter. While the film is due for release this September, the companion podcast is out now (through the BGS Podcast Network). So we talked to ISMAY about their musical idol, their dual life as a farmer/artist, and what this odyssey revealed about their own journey as a songwriter.
