KJJP-FM 105.7 FM serving Amarillo/Canyon and the central Texas Panhandle will be off the air on Monday from about 7am until 3pm. This shutdown is required while repairs are made to guy wires on the Channel 10 tower used by KJJP. During this outage you can continue listening to HPPR via its digital streams (see the player above) or through the HPPR mobile app.

Introducing the Cultural Foundation of the Texas Panhandle

Today on High Plains Morning, we caught up with Stephanie Price and Heather Friemel, both of whom are now heading up the Cultural Foundation of the Texas Panhandle, a new organization formed that will join forces of two established entities in our region: the Texas Panhandle Heritage Foundation, which is best known for the production of the TEXAS Outdoor Musical in Palo Duro Canyon, and the Panhandle- Plains Historical Museum. This new partnership fuses their common interests of “promoting an understanding of and appreciation for the history of the Texas Panhandle,” and it’s all in collaboration with West Texas A&M University in Canyon, TX.

Learn more about this partnership here, and listen to our full interview on the link below.

Jenny Inzerillo joined HPPR in 2015 as the host of High Plains Morning, our live music program that airs weekdays at 9 am to noon CST. Broadcasting from KJJP in beautiful downtown Amarillo, she helps listeners wake up with inspired music from our region and beyond. Tune in for new voices in folk/Americana, deep cuts from your favorite artists, soulful tracks from singer/songwriters across the world, and toe-tapping classics dating as far back as the 1920s. Plus, discover underground greats that just might be your new favorite band.
