Texas Wins: Energy Dichotomy

leadenergy.org

Texas.  Everything's bigger in Texas.  A recent piece by State Impact Texas, noted it not only applies to fossil fuel production, but also pollution.  The biggest polluter is also the state with the most wind energy, more than any other state, as a matter of fact, more than a lot of countries.

In a place known for its spirit of independence, one of the factors that propelled it to be a wind leader is a state mandate requiring powers companies to get a percentage of power from wind.  The state also has committed to building a transmission line which costs each Texans about $260.    And the spark that started the fire?  Pampa native and UT grad Michael Osborne, who thought he could do more-- personally and to the energy landscape of Texas.
