What's with all the truckers?

The most common jobs are changing.  Across the high plains, truck drivers dominate.

Why?  NPR reports there are a few reasons:

  1. Driving a truck is immune to globalization and automation.
  2. Regional specialization has declined.
  3. And part of it has to do with the way the Census Bureau categorizes jobs.  It lumps together all truck drivers and delivery people creating a very large category.
