254 Candidates File for Office in Oklahoma

All five of the incumbent Republican U.S. House members from Oklahoma will face challengers this fall, reports News9.Steve Russell and Markwayne Mullin have Democratic opponents, while U.S. Rep. Jim Bridenstine faces at least two Republicans and an independent. Rep. Frank Lucas will face a GOP challenger, and Rep. Tom Cole will face a Libertarian.

Statewide, 254 candidates have filed to run for public office. These include a large number of public school teachers, asHPPR reported last week.

Every seat in the Oklahoma House is up for grabs, along with 25 seats in the 48-member Senate. Also being contested: one of Oklahoma's U.S. Senate seats, all five U.S. House seats, and a six-year term on the Oklahoma Corporation Commission.
