Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt To Host Virtual Press Conference At 2 p.m. Today

Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt will be holding a virtual press conference today to provide updates on the state of Oklahoma’s response to the COVID-19 situation.

According to a press release from Stitt’s office Wednesday, Stitt and members of the Governor’s Solution Task Force is holding a virtual press conference at 2 p.m. CT at the Oklahoma National Guard Regional Training Institute. The press conference will be available to view on Gov. Stitt’s Facebook page

The state is currently reporting106 cases of the virus, most of which are being reported in Oklahoma County (41), Cleveland County (22) and Tulsa County (12). There have been three deaths related to COVID-19.

As HPPR reported Monday, Stitt issued an executive order advising Oklahomans to abide by the following:

  • Stay home and avoid groups of 10 or more people
  • Avoid eating or drinking at bars, restaurants, and food courts. Instead use drive-thru, pickup, or delivery options
  • Avoid discretionary travel, gyms, social visits, and shopping trips
  • Do not visit nursing homes, retirement or long-term care facilities

Stitt also activated the Oklahoma National Guard Regional Training Institute to observe COVID-19 developments and be ready to take actions requested by the governor to help communities and hospitals.
He also formed the aforementioned Governor’s Solution Task Force.
