Marcia Ricke – we call her “Marcy” – comes to HPPR from the edge of our listening region. She hails from Eastern Colorado, and she’s very excited to take on the role of Business Manager. Having worked in accounting for many years, she kicked off her career keeping the books for her family’s farm and ranching operations. When her children were finally off to school full time, she focused in on her own education and snagged a BA in Accounting.
Before joining HPPR, Marcy had a stint as CFO at a long-term care facility. She later moved to Business Manager for a public charter school. While this is her first foray into public radio, she’s no stranger to community-enrichment endeavors. Marcy has been on staff at the US Department of Natural Resources and the US Postal Service – so you know you’re dealing with a die-hard advocate for civil service.
HPPR welcomes Marcy as she tackles one of our most challenging roles. When she’s not crunching numbers for the station, she’s hanging out with her husband of 44+ years, keeping up with her four kids and eight grandchildren (some of whom live in Garden City!), quilting, reading, and cheering on the Denver Broncos.
