Working Mother magazine has released a list of the top 100 companies in the United States for working moms.

As AgWeb reports, the list contains many entries from the agribusiness sectors. Dow, DuPont, Monsanto, Ely Lilly, Merck, and Novartis were all among the companies honored for their treatment of working moms. The magazine judged companies on a number of metrics, including leave policies, workforce representation, benefits, childcare, opportunities for advancement, and flexibility of policies.

Some companies like Dow have taken specific measures to help new parents achieve a healthy work-life balance. The company offers 12 weeks paid parental leave for the eligible birthmother, and up to two weeks for the non-birthing parent. Zoetis, the world's largest producer of medicine for animals, was recognized for its back-up childcare, adoption assistance and tuition aid programs.
