Much of western Kansas and eastern Colorado is under a blizzard warning this weekend.
According to the National Weather Service, a major winter storm will begin to impact eastern Colorado and western Kansas tonight, with a mixture of rain, freezing rain or drizzle and freezing fog before the snow begins.
The change over to snow is expected late this evening into the overnight hours.
25 to 45 mph winds are expected with gusts of up to 70 mph, which will cause widespread blowing snow, mainly after 11 a.m. CST tomorrow.
New snow accumulation is expected to range from three to six inches in northeast Kansas and northeast Colorado and from six to ten inches in southwest Kansas and southeast Colorado
The Panhandles aren’t expected to be affected by this storm, but there is a chance for rain and snow before noon CST, with winds gusting to as high as 55 mph.
