Colorado Dems Nervous Over Anti-Fracking Measures

Two anti-fracking measures could find their way onto Colorado’s November ballot. But that’s not necessarily good news for the state’s Democratic Party, reports Politico.

The ballot initiatives threaten to fracture the state’s Democrats, and the measures could put Hillary Clinton in a tough spot politically. In fact, the ballot measures are causing such headaches that some Colorado environmentalists are hoping the initiatives will quietly go away. If not, Hillary Clinton could be forced to move further toward the center to accommodate the state’s oil and gas industry.

Green group are aghast at the oil industry’s staggering multimillion-dollar campaign to defeat the anti-fracking measures. Many fear their movement will suffer a demoralizing defeat if the two proposals make it onto the ballot.
