Following 37 years of tradition, High Plains Public Radio again offers listeners across the High Plains an entire schedule of wonderful Christmas programing of music, word and memories from across centuries of Christmas traditions. Each of the programs is profiled below and are listed in order of nearest to broadcast time. In many cases these profiles include links to further information, playlists, printed programs and options to listen anytime on-line. We at HPPR wish you a Merry Christmas, a wonderful holiday season and a Happy New Year. And we hope these program offerings add to your enjoyment, reflections and memories.

Frank Dominguez hosts a special holiday edition of the national bi-lingual program that features music by Spanish and Latin American composers and performers presented in English and in Spanish. This edition features traditional Spanish language villancicos from 18th century Cuba, 19th century Uruguay, and 17th century Ecuador. You'll also hear sacred works by the Renaissance Spanish composer Tomas Luis de Victoria, the 20th century Spaniard Joaquin Rodrigo, and the Argentine composer Ariel Ramirez. There are also traditional Spanish language Christmas songs as well as seasonal compositions by "the Schubert of the Pampas" Carlos Guastavino, and superstar Peruvian tenor Juan Diego Florez. Musical artists featured include tenor Plácido Domingo, the Exaudi Choir of Cuba, the Madrid Community Orchestra and Chorus, and guitarists Angel Romero and Alexander-Sergei Ramire.
