Fluttering By: Talkin' with Laurie Howard about "Wings of Hope" Butterfly Release

Thanks so much to Laurie Howard, Development Director at the Hope & Healing Place, for stopping by HPPR to talk about the "Wings of Hope: Butterfly Release & Remember."

On Saturday, September 8th from 10:00 a.m. to noon, they will be releasing 500 butterflies in memory and honor of lost loved ones.
Laurie says, "The butterfly carries so many similarities to the grief journey. It is a continuous journey, sometimes dark and sometimes celebratory."

It's free and open to the public, and it'll include a chalk walk, crafts for kids,  and more. Bring a lawn chair or blanket to the park and enjoy remembering and releasing. Also, you can reserve a butterfly onlinefor a fee or at the event to keep our free grief services up and going.

Laurie continued, "We are hopeful this beautiful butterfly release is a way that opens a new door to the grief process for kids and adults alike -- a place for them to know they are not alone. There is an entire grieving community right here in the Texas panhandle."
