Friends of Fogelberg V: What a night!

Friends of Fogelberg V was, in my opinion, the best show of the series yet.  In the interest of transparency, I have performed in all 5 shows.  The band sounded great, the individual performers were all at their best, the string section sounded amazing.  Best of all,   we raised a significant amount of money for Prostate Cancer awareness.  During the intermission, we auctioned 3 pairs of tickets to see Paul McCartney in Lubbock next month, bringing in another $8,000 for the cause, in addition to ticket sales and donations. The proceeds from these shows goes to the Harrington Cancer Foundation, which has used some of those funds to offer free PSA screenings in the Amarillo area.  This concert was called The Survivor’s Show, due to the fact that 4 of the musician’s onstage are Prostate Cancer survivors, including the Host, Dr. Richard Kibbee.

Here is a slideshow from the concert. This year, as in past years, Nancy Smith-Blackwell did a fantastic job as the official photographer. Here is a slideshow of some her beautiful photographs.

Mike Fuller remains our station's favorite prodigal son. Former Music Director of High Plains Public Radio, and host of High Plains Morning (2010-2015), he has returned to HPPR with a new show called What The Folk?—a signature mix of folk, roots, Americana, and more—woven together by a unifying theme. Tune in every Saturday night at 7pm CT for a two-hour mix that could only come from the man himself.
