Growing on the High Plains: Senior Gardening Basics

Jun 13, 2019

For lifelong gardeners, having a nice garden can greatly improve one's quality of life and longevity.

Gardening has been a part of my life since the beginning, and much of that is due to my family's influence. My father instilled within me the joy of tending and enjoying a landscape filled with blooms and plots filled with homegrown food. That love stayed with him until his final days, and it will stay with me with me as well. Today's Growing on the High Plains will provide some insight on how to keep a garden going for loved ones as they get older.  There are several things to consider when planning a plot, such as plant selection, ease of care, accessibility, and lower-maintenance methods for watering. Gardens that are approachable, colorful, and easy to enjoy offer a splash of wonder and vitality to everyone in its path.
