KJJP-FM 105.7 is currently operating at very reduced power and signal range using a back-up transmitter. This is because of complicated problems with its very old primary transmitter. Local engineers are currently working on that transmitter and consulting with the manufacturer to diagnose and fix the problems. We apologize for this disruption and service as we work as quickly as possible to restore KJPFM to full power. Maps: Tracking COVID-19's Spread In Texas

The public radio stations that make up The Texas Newsroom are tracking cases and deaths based on counts from the Center for Systems Science and Engineering at Johns Hopkins University.

The first confirmed case of COVID-19 in Texas was reported March 4 in Fort Bend County, southwest of Houston. The first death from the disease was on March 15 in Matagorda County, on the Gulf Coast between Houston and Corpus Christi.
