Johnny Reverb Holston
... I moved to Amarillo in the late 1950’s from Gulfport, Mississippi USA with my parents. My Dad made me drive the entire way even though I was only 5 at the time. Laws were more lax in those days and I sat on a beer box to see over the dash. Seriously…...my dad had an electric guitar and amp I learned as much as I could and within a year was trying to start a band......we played at the YMCA and The Scene on Amarillo Blvd. and in surrounding towns like Perryton, Muleshoe, Spearman, Dumas, Hereford etc... after high school off to Austin I went......I stayed in the Capitol City for 28 years... So, some time later, I ended up back in Amarillo...Johnny is currently a member of the Texas Blues Rangers.
Dave has been an active member of the Amarillo music scene for over 20 years, in numerous bands like The Humans and his current band Lonesome Goat. Dave says "Its about the geography, it's about where were from. This is Texas. It's what country music is all about." He also hosts weekly Acoustic Jams at various venues around town.
Mike Fuller is the host of HPPR's High Plains Morning, as well as your host for this evening. His new CD Live and More has just been released. He doesn't like shoes.
