What does Catholic Charities of the TX Panhandle do for our region? Provide Food: The InterFaith Hunger Project, provides a free monthly supply of healthy, nutritious food for those living on a fixed income. Shelter Children: The Pearl Longbine Youth Shelter is a 24-hour emergency placement home for youth, ages 5 to 17 and come from settings in which they may have been homeless, abused, neglected and/or exploited. Affordable Housing: Our Affordable Housing Program provides rental units for individuals and families. Currently, CCTXP owns one apartment complex on Bryan Street and four single family homes. Immigration Services: The Catholic Charities of the Texas Panhandle Citizenship and Immigration Program is the only non-profit service provider in the Texas panhandle, which means we also have the lowest cost for services in the area. Adult Eye Care: The Adult Eye Care Program works in conjunction with local optometrists and ophthalmologists to provide eye exams and glasses for low-income adults.
