KJJP-FM 105.7 is currently operating at very reduced power and signal range using a back-up transmitter. This is because of complicated problems with its very old primary transmitter. Local engineers are currently working on that transmitter and consulting with the manufacturer to diagnose and fix the problems. We apologize for this disruption and service as we work as quickly as possible to restore KJPFM to full power. In the mean time you can always stream either the HPPR mix service or HPPR connect service using the player above or the HPPR app.

TUNED IN: Please Support A Powerful Signal That Delivers The World To The High Plains

TUNED IN: Please Support A Powerful Signal That Delivers The World To The High Plains

During its 2018 Fall Membership Campaign, High Plains Public Radio is employing tech tools popularized in this decade. Our platforms include our website, www.HPPR.org, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube and Mailchimp — ways of communicating generally unheard of two decades ago.

Yet, High Plains Public Radio’s FM signal reaches listeners across parts of five states thanks to a technology developed more than 100 years ago.

This is where HPPR finds itself in this drive, pushing forward with the newest and shiniest tech tools while strengthening the programs heard over our 19 transmitters. The notion of the wireless in the family room of a High Plains homestead evokes a nostalgic vision. Families on the farm sat by the radio and heard a president’s comforting words during the Depression. They heard the sound of German bombs terrorizing London. They sat on the edges of their seats following the fortunes of their favorite big league teams.

Times have changed and information options are expanding, yet High Plains Public Radio remains a reliable conduit to deliver the world to your speakers.

A listener who made a contribution during Fall Membership Campaign this week inspired these thoughts. “HPPR is always on,” she correctly said. High Plains Public Radio exists to deliver the world to your speakers with fact-based and in-depth news and entertaining music.

Friday, Oct. 19, is the last day of our on-air campaign and we remain short of our $85,000 goal. Please make your pledge of support here.
