Thanks so much to David Lovejoy for stopping by High Plains Morning today to share information about the Amarillo Branch NAACP's two fabulous events happening this weekend. All are welcome, so check them out this Friday and Saturday.
On Friday, at 6 p.m., the "Living History: A Collection of Experiences" documentary will be screened at the Amarillo College Polk Street Campus. The 70-minute documentary film features interviews with African-American leaders in Amarillo who share personal stories of success and overcoming institutionalized racism.
The Amarillo Branch's annual Black History Month program is set to take place at 3 p.m. on Saturday at the Concert Hall Theater on AC's Washington Street Campus. The theme for this year's event is "Year of the Woman." Cost is $25 for adults and $15 for students, which includes the program plus a dinner following at 5 p.m. at In This Moment, 707 S.
