Another winter storm is bearing down on Colorado, with winter storm watches, warnings, and winter weather advisories posted throughout the state. The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) is encouraging motorists to delay any travel until the storm has moved through.

Among other announcements, the National Weather Service in Pueblohas issued:

  • A Winter Storm Warning for Teller and Northern El Paso Counties
  • A Winter Weather Advisory for the eastern San Juan, Sawatch, and Sangre De Christo Mountains, and for Kiowa and southern El Paso Counties

CDOT issued a statement encouraging motorists to avoid traveling between the hours of midnight and 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 26, and to have emergency kits available in vehicles. Storm totals are higher for northern counties in Colorado, with the Palmer Divide and the I-25 Gap project possibly seeing 6-10 inches of snow.

While impacts are predicted to be less further south, hazardous conditions are still possible.

Travelers are encouraged to check with their airlines for any flight impacts, as well as road conditions through COTrip.org. Local and regional school and facility closures can be found online as well.
