High Plains Morning

Weekdays from 9:00 AM to noon CT on HPPR

High Plains Morning is a long-standing tradition at HPPR. A daily mix of singer-songwriters, folk, jazz, Americana, world, reggae, bluegrass, rock and just about anything else that you can think of. Add a few live in-studio performances, interviews with community partners, and news from NPR + regional weather at the top of every hour, and you have a great way to move through your morning!

If you'd like to submit music for consideration, please mail a CD and one-sheet to: Jenny Inzerillo, Music Director, High Plains Public Radio, 104 SW 6th Ave., Suite B4, Amarillo, TX, 79101. (Please allow one month for processing, and then feel free to check the status of your submission by emailing music@hppr.org.)

The Avett Brothers, 'Another Is Waiting'

It hasn't even been 11 full months since released The Carpenter, the North Carolina band's most recent collection of poignant and infectious, bluegrass-inflected folk-rock. And, given the lengthy touring cycle that each major album release generally spawns — the Avetts of last month's Newport Folk Festival with songs from The Carpenter — fans had no reason to expect new music this year.

HPPR welcomes singer-songwriter, guitarist, human beat-box, throat singer, lip trombonist Lipbone Redding to our Amarillo studios for a Living Room Concert on Friday, August 2!  We are located at 104 SW 6th Ave, on the NW corner of 6th and Polk, in the basement of Amarillo National Bank's Special Assets Center.  The doors will open at 7:00, and the show will start at 7:30.  This is Lipbone's first visit to Amarillo- don't miss it!

Guitarist Adam Gardino and Violinist Kelly Champlin will be performing Living Room Concerts in both HPPR facilities on the same weekend: Friday, July 19 in Amarillo and Saturday, July 20 in Garden City.
