Magical Mixtape Hour

Saturday Night at Midnight CT (Technically, Sunday at 12:00 a.m. CT)

HPPR's newest regional program, Magical Mixtape Hour, is a weekly mix made just for you by your host and friendly neighborhood bearded weirdo, Kyle Borger. Pull up an ear (or two) and hear songs from a plethora of genres including folk, pop, hip-hop, electronic, and maybe even some German Death Reggae. Despite all the differences in instrumentation, production, and overall sound found in tunes, each mix will contain a through-line: darn good songs that will help expand your musical taste.

***Is midnight past your bedtime? No problem! Listen anytime after the show airs at Radio Free America. It records the stream, so you can catch it on your time for up to two weeks after the original air date.

Kyle Borger resides in Garden City, KS with his wife, Priscilla, and three dogs: Arthur, Gigi, & Mabel. He spends his mornings waking the masses as a barista. The rest of his days are spent listening to music, reading, and thinking too deeply about cartoons.

Note: Magical Mixtape Hour will replace HPPR's first (and hopefully not last) punk show, Punk & Disorderly, formerly hosted by the station's own Bryan Bihorel. Oi oi oi!

Ways to Connect

Today, I had a chance to ask the new host of a new show a lot of questions about a topic that I know very little about: METAL. I don't mean the conductive material; I mean the musical genre. While HPPR bids farewell to Kyle Borger's whimsical electro-pop showcase Magical Mixtape Hour, we welcome a dark spirit into the regional music programming mix.
