The USDA has released a list of retail chains that received E.coli-infected ground beef.

Tons of ground beef recalled from a Cargill Meat Solutions plant in Fort Morgan, Colorado, have been blamed for one death and 17 illnesses.

Cargill Meat Solutions is recalling hundreds of thousands of pounds ground beef products following an E.coli outbreak that caused one death and 17 illnesses.   

According to the USDA, Cargill is recalling over 132,00 pounds of ground beef products that may be infected with E.coli following an epidemiological investigation that found the affected people purchased the meat from grocery stores supplied by Ft. Morgan, Colorado’s Cargill Meat Solution

Cargill Meat Solutions and a union have agreed to pay more than $1.7 million dollars to settle a case alleging that Somali-American Muslim plant workers were wrongfully fired in a dispute over prayer breaks.

The settlement, which was announced Friday morning, came years after the late 2015 dispute with Somali-American Muslim workers at Cargill’s beef meatpacking plant in Fort Morgan, Colorado.

Cargill is selling its cattle feed yards in Leoti, Kansas and Yuma, Colorado to Green Plains.

According to a press release issued by Cargill on Wednesday, the company has reached an agreement to sell its beef cattle feed yards in Leoti and Yuma to Omaha-based Green Plains Inc., an ethanol producer with existing feed yards in Kismet, Kansas and Hereford, Texas.

A couple of weeks ago more than 200 Muslim workers walked off their jobs at a Cargill meat plant in eastern Colorado. Now the vast majority of those workers have been fired, reports The Denver Post.

Federal regulators Tuesday gave the final go-ahead for two of the country’s largest flour milling companies to merge.

Food giants ConAgra and Cargill said last year they wanted to put their flour mills under one roof in a new company called Ardent Mills. But a chorus of antitrust watchdogs said the deal would further consolidate an already concentrated industry.
