Your Infrastructure Grade is...

The American Society of Civil Engineers recently posted the infrastructure report card for each state.  Scores were given in 12 categories: aviation, bridges, dams, drinking water, education, energy, flood control, inland waterways, roads, solid waste, transit, and wastewater.

Kansas had an over grade of C-.  The lowest mark, a D-, was in regard to dams.  Kansas has 668 state regulated dams, 230 are rated high hazard.  The best areas were school facilities and roads, both receiving a C+.

Colorado had an overall ranking of C+, with aviation its strongest category attaining a B+, and energy the weakest,  taking a D.   Colorado is 19th in renewable energy production. 

Oklahoma also received an overall grade of C+.  There are 129 miles of levees in the Sooner state, gaining the lowest rating of D-.  Rails had the best score with a B.

Texas had the best overall position with a B.  The highest marks were given to solid waste and energy.  Texas is fifth in the production of renewable energy, with 28.967 gigawatt-hours.  Dams, drinking water, and education all achieved D-.
