Oil production is up in Kansas, while natural gas continues on the way down says The Kansas Geological Survey.
Kansas oil production rose 7 percent. Most of that increase was made possible by hydraulic fracturing, or fracking in the Mississippian limestone formation that lies under southern and western Kansas according to KMUW.
