The High Plains Irrigation Conference Is For Everyone Concerned About Water

ga.water.usgs.gov

The annual High Plains Irrigation Conference is for everyone concerned about water.  Regional water issues, an update on Texas Water Board Programs, irrigation trends, best practices for irrigation, and risk management tools are conference topics.  A research panel will also debate the issues.

The State Water Implementation Fund is a discussion topic.  The fund was approved by voters in November, and transfers $2 billion from the state’s Rainy Day Fund to the water fund.

The conference will be held in Amarillo, Texas, January 16, in the Regency Room of the Amarillo Civic Center.  The doors open at 8 a.m.  The conference starts at 8:30 a.m.

A trade show of new products and technologies will run concurrently.

More information is available on the Texas Agricultural Irrigation Association website.  You can also email questions to Dana Porter, program coordinator and Extension agricultural engineering specialist-irrigation and water management at dporter@ag.tamu.edu.
