Rains improved drought conditions only in SW Oklahoma

U.S. DROUGHT MONITOR

Oklahoma experienced very wet weather recently.  That seems to have improved drought conditions, but only in the southwest according to the latest updates from The U.S. Drought Monitor noted a recent article by StateImpact Oklahoma

Drover’s Cattle Network says while the rains helped, it won’t take long for the drought to fully reassert itself, and it’s too late for the state’s wheat crop.

StateImpact has previously reported how “years of extreme drought has withered the agricultural economies of southern Great Plains states like Oklahoma, where farmers are bracing for one of the worst wheat crops in state history.”
