The Center for Public Integrity has released its 2015 State Integrity Investigation, reports The Rural Blog. The rankings are based on various measures of legislative integrity, transparency, and accountability. And the news isn’t good. No state scored higher than a C overall. Among High Plains states, Colorado and Nebraska fared the best—or perhaps “the least poorly” would be a better way to say it. Both states earned a D plus rating. Texas rated a D minus, while Kansas and Oklahoma earned Fs.
With a C rating, Alaska scored the best in the nation.
Oklahoma and Kansas weren’t alone at the bottom. Other states scoring Fs were Delaware, Louisiana, Maine, Michigan, Nevada, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Dakota and Wyoming.
