Texas Ag Commissioner Joins Trump's Agriculture Team

Bob Daemmerich

Texas’s agriculture commissioner says he has joined Donald Trump’s ag team, reports The Texas Tribune.

Sid Miller announced last week that he is working with the GOP’s presidential nominee to help craft agricultural policy. Miller said Trump is forming a “coalition” of others in the agriculture industry. The commissioner also said he will serve as a national co-chair, focused on the Texas region. Miller added, “Personally I think Donald Trump will be great for agriculture.”

Miller was noncommittal when asked if he would consider serving in a Trump administration, though he admitted it wasn’t out of the question. He says he currently has the best job in the state of Texas. The Trump campaign did not respond to the Tribune’s request for a comment.
