Clinton Camp Redirects Resources to Texas

Andrew Harnik

Hillary Clinton’s campaign is expanding its efforts to traditionally Republican states, including Arizona and Georgia—and now add the Lone Star State to the list.

As The Houston Chronicle reports, Clinton’s campaign has purchased a one-week ad buy in Texas, citing tightening poll numbers and an endorsement by The Dallas Morning News. The ad highlights the editorial by the Dallas newspaper, and will run in the state’s urban centers.

The Democrats are mounting a concerted effort to keep Trump’s people rocked back on their heels by advancing into what has traditionally been red territory. Besides the Lone Star effort, First Lady Michelle Obama and Chelsea Clinton will campaign in Arizona this week. Meanwhile, vice presidential nominee Tim Kaine spoke in Utah last week, and Cory Booker and Jesse Jackson recently campaigned for Clinton in Georgia.
