With the news this week that Texas may be entering swing state territory, you may be wondering how much more unpredictable this election will get. But, as NewsOK reports,Oklahoma won’t be turning blue anytime soon.
The state has long held a reputation as one of the nation’s most reliably conservative, and that fact seems as true as ever.
As far as voter registration goes, Republicans have actually been expanding their lead this year. And, according to the latest numbers from the Election Board, Republicans have also been requesting and returning more absentee ballots in Oklahoma. Of the absentee ballots that have been returned, almost 15,000 have come from Republicans. Compare that with a little over 10,000 from Democrats.
Pam Pollard, chair of the Oklahoma Republican Party, said she’s absolutely confident Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump will carry the state.
