The Sunflower State is making a particularly strong showing when it comes to filling jobs in Donald Trump’s White House.
As the Topeka Capital-Journal reports,there are more Kansas names being floated this year than in any presidential transition in recent memory. There have been at least five Kansas names speculated about for potential top posts since the election.
Sen. Jerry Moran, Rep. Tim Huelskamp and Gov. Sam Brownback have all been part of the conversation surrounding who will fill the post of agriculture secretary.
Meanwhile, Secretary of State Kris Kobach met with Trump last weekend. Kobach has long been a Trump proponent, and the controversial Kansas firebrand has been mentioned as a possible secretary of Homeland Security.
And last week, Kansas Rep. Mike Pompeo was one of the first names announced. Pompeo will be the new CIA director, pending congressional confirmation.
