“Moms Demand Action” Descend On Oklahoma Capitol, Demanding Changes To Gun Laws

A group known as “Moms Demand Action” gathered at the Oklahoma State Capitol this week to seek action on multiple gun measures.

As KFOR reports, the group was focused on three separate proposed measures: a bill concerning guns on campus, one about permit-less carry, and another bill that would expand protections under the self-defense law known as ‘stand your ground.’”

One of the group’s main goals is to stop “permit-less” carry from becoming a reality in Oklahoma. House Bill 2951 would allow law-abiding Oklahomans to carry a firearm without a permit.

Permit-less carry is currently legal in 12 states, and some Republican lawmakers in the state capital hope Oklahoma becomes the 13th.

GOP Rep. Jeff Coody said he believes being able to carry a gun without a permit is a right Oklahomans deserve.
