Beto O'Rourke To Host Town Hall In Amarillo This Sunday

Beto O'Rourke, the young West Texas congressman who is challenging Ted Cruz for his Senate seat, will be in Amarillo this weekend as his campaign gears up for the final six months before the election.

As KFDA reports, the Democrat will host a town hall meeting, scheduled for 7:30 p.m. this Sunday evening. The event will be held at In This Moment, at 3941 N. Western in Amarillo.

The energetic young congressman has made perhaps as much national news as any non-incumbent contender this election season. Just this week Time magazine published an article entitled, “Can Beto O'Rourke Turn Texas Blue?”

Last week O'Rourkechallenged the incumbent Ted Cruz to six debates over the course of the campaign, requesting that two of those debates be in Spanish. In response, Cruz said that his Spanish was not good enough to debate in that language, though he is of Cuban descent.

O'Rourke’s Amarillo stop is part of his plan to host a town hall in every county in Texas before November.
