This November, Texas Elections Will Be More Competitive Than They’ve Been In Decades

National elections are less than three months away now. In the years to come, the political fortunes of the nation at large will likely hinge on the Lone Star State—and this year, Texas looks to be more competitive than it has been in decades.

Beto O’Rourke, the upstart Congressman from West Texas, has a real chance of knocking off Ted Cruz, while at least three Republican-held congressional seats may be in jeopardy, including the Dallas seat of longtime GOP stalwart Pete Sessions. Across the country, Democrats are hoping this year will give them an opportunity to upset the fortunes of President Trump and his party.

But Texas remains the biggest jewel in the US political crown, and once the Lone Star State becomes competitive, notes The Dallas Morning-News, “Republicans' ability to win the White House will be seriously diminished.”
