Texas Leaders Speak Out After El Paso Shooting


West Texas is still reeling from a mass shooting this weekend at a Walmart in El Paso, which left at least 22 dead and dozens injured. in the wake of the tragedy, a number of Texas leaders have spoken out.
 
Former US Rep. Beto O'Rourke, who is from El Paso, has appeared frequently in the national press in recent days, lamenting the massacre in his hometown. As USA Today reported,O'Rourke called out the national media for failing to draw connections between President Trump's racially charged rhetoric and acts of terrorism like the one in El Paso.
 
Meanwhile,as the Texas Tribune reports, Texas lieutenant governor Dan Patrick appeared on Fox News this weekend to blame video games for the tragedy.
 
Finally, Texas Land Commissioner George P. Bush called on the United Statesto "stand against white terrorism."
