Kansas Ranks Top Among HPPR States For Teachers

Among states in the High Plains Public Radio listening region, Kansas is the best state to live in for teachers.

The personal finance website Wallethub ranked all statesfor teacher friendliness, comparing a 23 key metrics, including income growth potential, pupil-teacher ratio and teacher safety.

Kansas ranked 13th in the nation. No other HPPR state was even in the top half of the rankings.

Nebraska was ranked number 26, and Texas was listed at number 30. Colorado was further down, at number 40, and Oklahoma was near the bottom at number 45.

North Dakota and New Jersey were found to be the best states for teachers, while New Hampshire and Arizona were at the very bottom of the rankings.
