Growing on the High Plains: Forcing Bulbs

Gardeners, remember that you can always defeat the dumps that winter weather brings by forcing bulbs. It's easy, and it ushers a breath of spring in the dead of winter.

If you find yourself missing the company of lush blossoms, you aren't alone. Many of us High Plains gardeners find the cold weather months a struggle. But I'm here to remind you that you can always sneak a little spring color as you weather the nip of winter by forcing bulbs in pots. There's a large variety of bulbs available at garden centers, and it's likely you can score some on the cheap if you get them soon.
