CKAROLI

The San Jose Mercury News publisheda great listlast week of recommended holiday books for young readers. Leo, A Ghost Story by Mac Barnett is a gentle spooky tale and a beguiling story of acceptance. In If You're a Robot and You Know It by David A. Carter, preschoolers will have great fun clapping hands and stomping feet along with the robot. The Little Tree by Muon Van is narrated by a tree, who must let go of her little seed; the story parallels the difficult and brave journey immigrants endure.

The Thunder Egg by Tim J. Myers closely follows folktale traditions of the Cheyenne people. The book details the story of Stands-by-Herself, who successfully ends a devastating drought afflicting the Great Plains.

There’s also a newly reprinted deluxe 20th-anniversaryedition of The Christmas Miracle of Jonathan Toomey, a Christmas story for the whole family to read together.
