Colorado Music Hall of Fame Inducts New Members

Jensen Sutta

The Colorado Music Hall of Fame inducted six new artists on Saturday, reports the Boulder Daily Camera. The ceremony, and an accompanying concert, occurred on the University of Colorado campus.  The event was held in an auditorium named for one of the inductees, Glenn Miller.

Miller attended CU before gaining international fame as a bandleader in the 1930s. The big band musician, arranger and composer died in WWII. His band continues to tour and played Saturday night at the induction.

Lannie Garrett, another inductee, performed with the orchestra. The other inductees were four “20th Century Pioneers,” Paul Whiteman, Max Morath, Billy Murray and Elizabeth Spencer.

The Colorado Music Hall of Fame is located in the Trading Post at Red Rocks Amphitheatre. It's open every day except Thanksgiving and Christmas from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., from November through March, and from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily April through October.
