Over the course of the pandemic, human relationships had to be nimble. While some were strengthened, others were strained—and we're all left navigating how to feel and connect with one another. As we enter year three of social distancing, remote learning, and emotional rollercoasters, many of us might be seeking a way to be a positive impact on those who didn't have as much support as they would have liked.
Well, January is National Mentoring Month, and there are few better ways to kick off your resolution to BE MORE POSITIVE than to partner up with a young kid that needs a little guidance. That's why I asked Chris Flores of Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Texas Panhandle to stop by High Plains Morning fo ra chat about the benefits of mentoring. They are accepting volunteersto pair up with a kid for a little chill time, counsel, companionship, and fun. So if you or someone you know could find 4 to 6 hours every month to spend with a kid in need of some quality hang time, consider signing upand seeing if there's a good match for you.
