1940: Christmas Camping in the Mountains of Texas

Howdy Folks.  I've got a special treat.  My ole buddy, James "Dubb" Wallace, took some time to talk with me on the phone about spending his Christmas vacations camping in the mountains of the Texas/Mexico border.

Dubb is a young 80 years old.  In the 1940s, his family spent Christmas break camping and running trap lines in the mountains, earning extra money by selling the pelts.

It was a different time, and I can't do justice writing about it.  Take a minute and listen in.

Until next time, be safe and enjoy the great outdoors!
