Canadian, Texas: Residents Vote to Stay Dry

Canadian will remain dry.  The majority voters in Tuesday’s election cast ballots opposing the legalization of local liquor sales according to The Amarillo Globe-News.  

City Secretary Kimberly Sloat said the unofficial final vote was 58 percent against the measure and 42 percent for it.  Sloat went on to say the total number of votes cast was 568. 

Canadian is located in Hemphill County, and had 1,516 registered voters for this election.
